Tim Boykett - The Feeling of Being Here, Doing This, Right Now:
Real-time Real-world Interactivity
Tim Boykett was born and grew up in Australia. He is a founding member
of the internationally acclaimed Time’s Up collective, who produce
innovative art installations/experiences. His interests are between
the areas of mathematics and media art, performance and interaction.
Tims talk will introduce Time’s Up’s body of work, from the
physicality of the Hyperfitness Studio and the enclosed real
virtuality of SPIN (Spherical Projection Interface), to the Sensory
Circus and the online game environment experiments that challenge our
notion of physical spaces.
Tim will describe both the ideas behind these works as well as the
hardware and software details. Tools will be introduced briefly and
techniques for interactive development will be discussed. This
presentation will be of interest to those interested in compelling
experiences in mixed reality worlds.
Tim Boykett’s attendance is sponsored by the Australian Network for
Art and Technology (ANAT), as part of the the Creativity and Cognition
Studios /ACID symposium, ENGAGE: Interaction, Art, and Audience
Experience.

Colaboration Exhibition: John Greeuw and Simon Giraudo
Hybrid Work : 3 Dimensional Painting - Multi dimensional projection space
@ The ShowCase Space
Corner Aberdeen and Beauford Streets Northbridge
Perth Western Australia
3rd - 16th October 2006
Closing Night 13th Oct

Work : Hybrid 3 Dimensional Painting Multi Dimensional Projection Space.
Our first collaboration exhibition was “Light and Paint 2004″, KURB Gallery in Sept 2004.
In the 2004 exhibition we exploded a painting out into 3 dimensions. The viewer could move between the layers of the painting. The projection was created using a mixture of light and the painting. The projection space existed between the layers within the painting, togethers with the layers and the wall space of the gallery that framed the painting.

Paint and Light 2006 is born out of Paint and Light 2004 documentation. One of the challenges of The ShowCase Space will be working with the space itself, which is very different to that of the KURB.

Paint & Light 2006 has become another order of magnification….
