Videos about television ongoing video series
This is my latest and probably last video in my Videos about television investigation. It was a really harrowing performance. I don’t like to spend time in front of a television. I understand that performance works are generally more successful when they are pessimistic. But it felt really lame to me. I don’t like a lot of things about television, but the general opinion on it is pretty good, people enjoy television. I don’t feel comfortable denying anyone that.
For me it’s really important to be confident with your ideas if you’re going to try and challenge general opinion. There is no point saying something that your not 100% behind.
For now, I’m not interested in saying anything more about television, or trying to change peoples opinions of it. At this stage I’d like to use art to create new and interesting sensual experiences, rather than reiterating the problems in the world.
Drawing about sound, sound about drawing stop-motion video, part of a performance to take place on 29.10.09
I’ll be using this animation as visual inspiration for a sound performance I’ll be dropping on Thursday night. This should give some insight into the process that I’ve been using with my Drawing about sound, sound about drawing work.
The video will be projected onto me, spilling over to a wall behind while make some weird noises with my voice and hit things with my hands.
I’m keen to continue experimenting with this style of stop motion, at the moment I’m not completely happy with this one, at the start particularly it is really obvious how it’s being made and what is going on. The goal is to create a less relational environment.
