Posted in Electronic Art 1st year on August 24th, 2009Hi all, I will be coming on as normal on Thursday in case any of you want to ignore the break and get some work done. Kevin will be there to assist, as will Lee, a visiting artist from Plymouth University who is going to help you with your interactive works. I will be there all day so feel free to join me. It could be a good time to spend a while working on your projects with techncal advice at the ready!
Also, HAve a look at this blog. It is a friend Alan Hook from Manchester’s (MMU) class plan and may have relevant information for you!

I will also be reviewing and commenting on your posted works, so please post for me so you can get as much feedback as possible before your first assessments. Remember you will be marked on your posts along with your work.

Hypothetically speaking - Adam Kerslake
Posted in Master of Electronic Art on August 20th, 2009Well the idea i have come up with is revealling the environmental bogan from within. It would be a simulated burnout and drag “electronic” machine. The experience would be the same as actually competing in a burnout or race senario only there would be no oil, petrol or burnt rubbber pollution, no excessive noise pollution, and no expensive broken engine or driveline components. The smoke could easily be simulated by perhaps dry ice, but the array of smells??? Gravity and force would play a major role in the simulated experience trying to emulate and enhance the feeling of being flung around a burnout pad or launched down a race strip. Skill and control would play a major role rather than just pushing an accelerator, and crashing would be a major part of the experience. Rather than people spending thousands of dollars on a real race car they could invest some time and money in creating a virtual race car that could then be enter into virtual competitions.
