Naming your posts
Posted in Electronic Art 1st year on October 6th, 2009Hi all first years,
This is a reminder to put your names on your posts so that I can tell who owns what info/work. Also remember to select the first year category on the left menu block rather than Masters class to avoid confusion. I hope the ideas are coming along. remember this next class is super important: Kevin will be giving a sound tutorial and Steve will be coding your visual content for you.
I will also be discussing your work in preparation for reviews and informing you of our ’special guests for the rest of the semester.

I would like you all to consider participating in this online festival. It is a great way to gain exposure and new skills from the tutorials/other artist’s work examples.
Synesthesia + Copycats
Posted in Master of Electronic Art on September 24th, 2009Short film by Terri Timely, more of his stuff here
Someone also showed me this blog a while ago, it basically accuses the advertising industry shamelessly exploiting creativity and copying original ideas without paying any due credit to the original artists/filmmakers/animators etc…
Some examples are much more valid than others, so have a scroll down and read some older entries, its interesting to compare and judge it for yourself, and consider what is homage and where the fine line between inspiration and plagiarism lies.
Strong language warning though as you might guess from reading the title of the site.. the author is pretty relentless in their accusations and quite graphic… not for the easily offended
Check it out here: Copyc**ts
